Part of the excitement at seeing the works gathered by Eric Troncy comes from the fact that these forms of painting have mostly been ignored by French institutions or only reluctantly and recently introduced, generally in commercial venues. The exhibit has a revolutionary feel. Now, it only remains, for me at least, to understand the striking novelty of the artists gathered by the curator.
