Bring it on, Paris, I am back.
After a three months’ break without art or social media (the life!!!!), I am ready to plunge again in the world of Parisian art. But you’d better surprise me, and I don’t mean bad surprises like Marta Gili leaving the Jeu de Paume, or the Maison Rouge closing. No, please, give me some art that moves me, that shakes my beliefs, changes the world, and makes me forget everything that is so wrong about today’s art market.
For a start, catching up on photography shows : #GordonMattaClark who protested collapsing buildings (one killed his cousin), bad housing, and violent gentrification of whole neighborhoods of New York by switching his career from architecture to “anarchitecture”, photography and activism, and exposed the seams of the city in performances and photos.
Picture above from Conical Intersect, 1975, as Centre Pompidou was being built, and only a few years after Genova’s bridge was built.
