California-based artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt absorbs elements of American culture – the images and the slogans, a crude fascination for sex and violence, overheard phrases, all the contemporary human comedy – to create images that have something sticky about them.
More than critical, they seem sarcastic, a merciless vision of today’s society.
