The Bonnard retrospective is a feast for the eyes. Even if the thematic presentation (bathtubs, gardens, tables…) tells little about Bonnard’s creative process, the sheer beauty of the paintings speak for themselves – about color and drawing fighting each other and then reconciled, about the vindication of orange, pale purples, and iridescent greens, about the intensity of ordinary moments.
